Burnside KY (July 24th, 2018) The battle with drug addiction is at an all-time high in Kentucky, affecting families of all sizes and economic backgrounds. Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY is having a special Race For Recovery Saturday, July 28th 7pm. Not only will it be a special night of dirt track racing, Lake Cumberland Speedway is inviting everyone out to help draw awareness to this terrible epidemic. The track will be honoring families who have lost loved ones to drug addiction or have families members still battling with addiction. Not only will there be a Race for Recovery, there will be a Walk for Recovery at intermission. Families will line up on the track and complete 1 lap in support of drug addiction awareness.

Owner/Promoter, Brandon Hardgrove knows all-to-well what drug addiction does to individuals and families, “I know first hand what drug addiction does to a person’s family, friends and themselves. I am one of the blessed ones to have such a phenomenal support system with friends and family who never gave up on me.

Hardgrove goes on to say, “Sobriety has changed my life and I feel we need to do whatever we can to help bring awareness to those struggling with addiction. We also want to show support for the families of those who are battling, or who have been lost, to drug addiction”.

The special Race for Recovery will feature Late Models $2,000 to win, Open Wheels $800 to win, Super Stocks $600 to win & Mini Stocks $500 to win. All proceeds from Saturday’s 50/50 giveaway will be donated to local Celebrate Recovery groups.
